The School Day

 

Our School meets the minimum expectation for a core school week set by the DFE in March 2022 (32.9 Hours)

 

Drop off and Pick up arrangements

 

Arrangements for dropping off your child at school.

Pupils are under the care of their parents/carers until they enter their classrooms and pass onto the care of school staff at 8.40 (9.00 for Nursery pupils).

We have three secure entry gates to our school (Gate 1 for Nursery/Reception/Year 1, Gate 2 at the front of the school for Yr 2 and 3 and Gate 3 down the side path for Yr 4 to 6). These gates are manned by staff in the morning. Please speak to staff if you have any concerns.

If pupils are late, they must be taken by a parent/carer to the front entrance where the adult needs to sign them in and a member of staff will take them through the secure door at the back of the front entrance.

 

Arrangements for picking up your child at school

At the end of the day, care and supervision of pupils is passed onto parents/carers when pupils are dismissed by school staff and are directed to their parent/carer or agreed adult outside the classroom door.

For our younger children, arrangements will be agreed with parents/carers to ensure staff are clear which adults are permitted to collect pupils. A password system may be used.

*Year 6 pupils are permitted to make their own way to and from school without adult supervision but parents/carers are clear that the school’s care of these pupils begin when they enter the classroom at 8.40 and leave at 3.15.
